White-Nose Syndrome National Plans

United States National Response Plan

A National Plan for Assisting States, Federal Agencies, and Tribes in Managing White-Nose Syndrome in Bats The National WNS Plan.

A National Plan for Assisting States, Federal Agencies, and Tribes in Managing White-Nose Syndrome in Bats (WNS National Plan) provides the strategic framework for implementation of a collaborative continental-scale response to white-nose syndrome by State, Federal, Tribal and non-governmental partners.  Seven key elements critical to understanding and management of the disease are identified, and strategic goals and actions for each element are described.  Working groups were established to coordinate and implement activities within each element.  Collectively the objectives and actions identified in this National WNS Plan address the greatest needs and knowledge gaps to be pursued in order to understand and respond effectively to this emerging infectious disease of North American bats.
